BOISE, ID (CBS2) — Some of Idaho's brightest middle schoolers travelled to Boise State University to battle it out for a top spot in the Idaho VEX Robotics Middle School State Championship.
21 teams from across Idaho qualified for the event at Boise State, each team building the programming their own robots to accomplish a specific task.
This years game called "VRC Spinoff" - where two teams use their robots to shoot yellow disks at goals, suspended at different heights in the air.

The South Middle School "Fighting Chickens" and the East Valley Middle School's "Alpha Entity" won the tournament and will now go on to compete in the 2023 U.S. Open Robotics Championship in Council Bluff, Iowa and the 2023 Vex Robotics World Championship in Dallas, Texas.
